Center for the Study of Languages:

Eric Granquist, Academic Technology Integrator , native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is the Humanities Technology Intergrator and Liaison. He received his MA in English Literature from UH. His professional interests include integration of streaming media with web database applications and server virtualization. 

Hajime Kumahata, Technology Integration Architect,  native of Kofu, Japan. His primary duty is to assist faculty members in implementing technology into their curriculum. Before coming to Rice, he taught at Baylor University for 12 years. His interests include delivering multi-media contents, open source projects, and computer mediated communications. 

Marcie Newton, Assistant Director Marcie has been at Rice since 2000. She was previously in the Dean of Humanities Office and has been the Program Coordinator for the Center since 2005. Marcie and her husband are also Resident Associates at Sid Richardson College, which is one of the residential dorms at Rice.

Juan Ramos,  Junior System Admnistrator . He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Computer Information Systems from UHD. Prior to joining the CSL, Juan provided desktop support at the University of Houston. His professional interests include pc support and server administration.
